This production will:

• Give local musicians and actors the opportunity to work on a uniquely Australian story.

• Fill a gap in theatre by creating a large-scale musical written by Australians, about Australians, for Australian audiences—with original music.

• Provide child actors with the chance to perform in a major musical production.

• Open job opportunities for artists, actors, technical staff, scenic makers, and other creatives.

• Promote positive messages about acceptance and embracing diversity.

• Celebrate Australia’s landscape, culture, and wildlife while raising awareness of our native animals.

• Ignite wonder in the lives of both children and adults.

• Bring communities together through shared cultural experiences.

Through When the Wind Blew, we aim to create a musical that resonates deeply with audiences, inspires the next generation of performers, and celebrates the richness and diversity of Australia—both on stage and beyond.
